About Birdee & Star

Birdee & Star is all about celebrating your unique style and personality!

Birdee & Star was originally born from a dream to create fun, retro and boho inspired jewellery, decor and fashion accessories. Since my shop opened in 2015, Birdee & Star has evolved to include an eclectic array of styles made from various mediums.

I am am a mixed media designer and primarily produce my creations from lightweight acrylic, eco resin, wood and polymer clay as well as featuring other adornments such as pom poms and tassels. I also love working with crystals, hemp and up-cycled materials.

Some of my pieces are true one-off creations or made in limited runs so you are always guaranteed to find something beautifully handmade and unique.  I adore the slow fashion movement I am always keen to explore new and innovative ideas.  Wearable art is the best kind if you ask me!

Birdee & Star also has a long-term outlook when it comes to the environment, ethical production and sustainability. I believe in quality over quantity and always look for ways to lower my carbon footprint.  I am mindful of the fact I use plastics in my work so I use every single piece with careful thought and aim to make products you can wear for a lifetime.  

Many of my tools are reused and my products are packaged and shipped thoughtfully in eco-friendly packaging.  I also use eco resin in many of my designs and keep general waste to an absolute minimum.  Birdee & Star will always support advancements that help to keep the planet thriving.

Birdee & Star also supports other local and ethical small businesses whenever possible. I source quality materials and purchase from these businesses and suppliers to help support the shopsmall movement.

I am also a firm advocate of supporting my fellow makers.  Our industry is such a large and diverse one and I am all about showcasing and encouraging the amazing work of my peers and other artists alongside my own.
